HAZESATIVASEEDS
About Candidate
The scientific name dates to 1753, when Carl Linnaeus described the plant in Species Plantarum using the Latin word for cultivated. At that time cannabis sativa seeds were an agricultural commodity across Europe, grown mainly for fiber and oil, and the psychoactive varieties of Asia were largely unknown to Western botanists. Lamarck proposed a separate species, indica, three decades later based on Indian specimens. The naming debate that followed has never been fully resolved.
