BACKGROUND
The Integrated Biodiversity Assessment Tool is the product of a ground-breaking alliance between four major conservation organisations; the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), BirdLife International, Conservation International and the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC). The tool integrates data from core global biodiversity datasets – the World Database on Protected Areas, World Database of Key Biodiversity Areas and the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species – into a single portal to support decision makers from industry, finance and governments. Launched over 16 years ago, it is an innovative solution for providing biodiversity information to decision makers while channelling resources into the underlying datasets.
This role sits within IUCN’s Business & Nature Global Team, who are responsible for developing and delivering a coherent and impactful programme of work that leverages IUCN’s knowledge, tools, metrics, and approaches to accelerate the adoption by companies of practices that deliver nature positive outcomes and societal benefits. This programme is delivered primarily through the development of private sector and public partnerships and action at the corporate, sectoral, supply chain, and regulatory levels.
