Job Description:
We are now looking for an experienced and qualified candidate with the main mission to work as Sr. Project Engineer Power System and Microgrid.
Your main responsibilities in this role will be:
System Design and Integration:
- Design and develop integration plans for EV charging systems, microgrids, and
- BESS with existing mining power grid infrastructure.
- o Ensure compatibility and interoperability between different system components.
Grid Support:
- Analyze grid requirements and develop strategies for grid support using renewable energy sources and storage solutions for our mining customers.
- Implement demand response, power management and grid stabilization techniques.
EV Charging System Integration:
- Design and implement EV charging infrastructure, including hardware and software components.
- Ensure efficient integration with the grid and other renewable energy sources.
Microgrid Development:
- Design and develop microgrid systems, including control strategies and communication protocols.
- Perform load analysis and optimization for microgrid performance.
Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Management:
- Design, implement, and manage BESS for various applications, including peak shaving, load shifting, and backup power.
- Develop control algorithms and strategies for efficient BESS operation.
Project Management:
- Manage projects from conception through commissioning, ensuring timelines and budgets are met.
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, software developers, and project managers.
Compliance and Safety:
- Ensure all systems comply with relevant regulations and safety standards.
Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in grid support, EV charging systems, microgrids, and BESS.
- Strong understanding of electrical grid infrastructure, renewable energy integration and related international regulations.
- Proficiency in simulation and modeling tools such as ETAP, MATLAB, Simulink, PSS/E, or similar.
- Experience with control systems, SCADA, and energy management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication and project management skills.
Education and Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Renewable Energy, or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license may be ideal.
- Experience in mining or other heavy machinery industries is a plus.
- Knowledge of international electrical system safety regulations and requirements.
Personality Requirement:
- Enthusiastic, positive minded and able to work well in an international client environment.
- Self-starter and goal oriented
