Internship Opportunity in the Directorate of Space Transportation.

Our team and mission

This position is based at the ESA HQ – Paris, France

Within the Infrastructure & Value Chain Department, the CSG (Centre Spatial Guyanais) team ensures
 

  • the maintenance in operational conditions of the facilities and equipment of the CSG Range operated by CNES supported by European industry;
  • its enhancements (eg. new operations centre, digitalization, greening).

 

The status of those activities are followed up under the technical, the financial and the European industrial organization (for Geo return monitoring) fields.

Field(s) of activity for the internship

Topic of the internship: Automation of the assessment checks on the CSG Georeturn data Excel file by the implementation of VBA routine
 

After being instructed about the CSG Range and the Georeturn Evaluation Process, you will perform the following activities:

  • Assessment of the provided Georeturn data Excel files, identification of the parameters to be checked and mapping of the automation needs; 
  • Development of Excel Macros in order to automate the checks tasks;
  • Drafting the dashboards for discrepancies checks and for global datas assessment;
  • Supporting the preparation of georeturn forecasts files.  

 

You will work in close cooperation with project controller, and industrial policy team.

Education

You must be a university student, preferably in your final or second-to-last year of a university course at Master’s level and you need to remain enrolled at your University for the entire duration of the internship.

Additional requirements

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. A good knowledge of one of these is required. Knowledge of another Member State language would be an asset.

Knowledge and background in IT tools such as Excel, Excel VBA, PowerBI is an asset.

Openness and relationship-building skills are essential to have.
